Americans seriously planning a move to Portugal arrive with a completed in-depth assessment and one request: tell me the truth about my plan. You will be the advisor who does: reading their assessment, pressure-testing assumptions, and building a realistic, step-by-step roadmap in a one-hour debrief they'll describe as the most useful call of their year.
What you'll actually do
- Conduct assessment-debrief consultations with US clients planning a move to Portugal
- Translate a detailed lifestyle-and-finances assessment into a concrete, sequenced plan
- Maintain expert-level currency on D7 and digital-nomad pathways, healthcare enrollment, the Lisbon-versus-smaller-city calculus
- Write follow-up roadmaps clients actually execute against
- Flag when a client plan won't work, and redesign it so it will
A typical week
Two debriefs today. The morning couple can absolutely make their plan work, eighteen months sooner than they thought, and you show them how. The afternoon client's numbers don't survive contact with reality; you rebuild the plan around a different city and a phased timeline, and he thanks you for being the first person who didn't just tell him what he wanted to hear.
What you bring
- Deep, current knowledge of relocating to Portugal as a foreigner (lived experience strongly preferred)
- Native-level spoken English (C1 badge required); credible with successful US professionals and retirees
- Advisory temperament: structured thinking, honest delivery, zero sales pressure
- Strong written follow-through; the roadmap is the product
Structure and pay
Full-time, fully remote, US hours. $2,000-2,800/month depending on experience, review at 90 days.
