the process

How RemoteComet works

From first click to signed offer, here is exactly what happens, what we ask of you, and what you can hold us to.

  1. step 1

    Quick apply

    Two fields, two minutes.

Every application starts with just your email and a CV or LinkedIn link. No account required, no 40-field form, no salary history — ever. You'll get a confirmation email right away, and you can create a full profile afterwards if you want to.

  2. step 2

    Human review

    A person reads every application.

Nothing here is auto-rejected by keyword filters. A recruiter reviews your application against the role's actual requirements and moves it to one of three honest statuses: matched, in review, or not this time. You can follow the status live from your dashboard.

  3. step 3

    Skill badges

Prove it once, reuse it everywhere.

Some roles list a required skill badge — for example English C1 or Italian C1. Each badge is a short assessment (about 15 minutes) you take once. A pass is permanent and applies automatically to every current and future role that requires it. You get up to three attempts per 30 days, and your score is only ever used to open doors, never shared as a ranking.

  4. step 4

    Matching

    Roles come to you.

Your dashboard shows a scored list of open roles that fit your badges, experience and interests, with plain-language reasons for each match. If you opt in, we also send one short email a week with your top matches — one click to unsubscribe, and we never email more than weekly.

  5. step 5

    Interview & offer

Introductions only when both sides say yes.

When a hiring team wants to meet you and you've said you're interested, we make the introduction and get out of the way. Interviews are typically one or two video calls. If you receive an offer, it comes with the structure and pay that were listed — no bait and switch.

Common questions

Why are some employers listed as confidential?+

Some companies hire through us precisely because they don't want a public hiring post — for competitive reasons, or because the role replaces an existing arrangement. The role details, pay structure and expectations are still real and complete; only the company name is withheld until the introduction stage. You will always know who the employer is before any interview.

Does it cost anything?+

No. RemoteComet is free for candidates, always. Employers pay us a placement fee when a hire works out — which is also why we have no incentive to waste your time with fake or stale listings.

What happens to my data?+

Your profile and CV are used only to evaluate you for roles on this board. We never sell your data, never share it with an employer without your consent to be represented for a specific role, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.

Why don't you ask for salary history?+

Because it anchors negotiations against you and it's none of an employer's business. Roles here list their structure and pay range up front instead.

What does "no ghost listings" mean?+

Every listing on the board is an open, active search. When a role is filled or paused, the listing comes down the same day. If you applied, you're told — you're never left guessing.

What if I fail a badge assessment?+

Nothing bad happens. You can retake it up to three times per 30 days, and failed attempts are never shown to employers. Once you pass, the badge is yours permanently.

I applied — how long until I hear back?+

You get an instant confirmation email, and a substantive status update typically within a week. Whatever the outcome, you'll hear it. Silence is not an answer we use.

Can I apply to multiple roles?+

Yes, and your profile and badges carry across all of them automatically. Apply to whatever genuinely fits — quality beats volume, and the matching engine will surface anything you've missed.
